Thanks Barbara! I also had a Bear show up at the Ringwood filming but I wasn’t fast enough with the camera. At the Ramapo filming I had two Deer follow me around so I put them in the video.

Nice place, I’m planning to go there for a ride, which trails or route recommend for first time there. I’m a little worried for the Bears.

      Hey Carlos,

No need to worry about bears …I was very lucky to get one on video. In all the times I’ve been there I’ve only seen 2 bears and they ran off the second they saw me. The best way to get around if it’s your first time is to download a gps track onto your phone of gps. You can also try and find someone to show you around. Post up on and someone we’ll be happy to show you around. The best trails to check out are “3 Stones”, “Cascade”, “The Wall” and “Stonegate”. …I love Mahlon! -Manny

Hi Manny, great video. Would love to know what trails you were out. We’ve gotten out theee times now mostly on the yellow and blue. Haven’t seen those high points you go to.
    Any guidance would be appreciated!

      Hi Johanna,

Here are a few of the trails in the video. Use the Map Link under the video to find them.

0:58sec is Headley Overlock Trail (Blue)
1:13min is the wall Trail (Yellow)
1:29min is Stone Gate Trail (Yellow & Black… this might have changed)
      1:54min is Cascade Trail (Brown)

      I hope this help!

Thanks! Excited to check them out. Do you have other favorite places to ride in the area?

Kittatinny Valley State Park in Andover Township is only 20 minutes from Mahlon. It has a great trail system, more on the mellow side. One of my go to spots when I need a break from the super rocky terrain typical of north Jersey.

Lewis Morris Park in Morristown is another nice trail but a bit further south.
